The Citycoco Scooter

The Citycoco style was an original concept by the company 'Seev' with the hallmark feature being the small diameter wheels with extra wide tyres.
The scooters that we rent feature a robust steel frame, carrying full scooter suspension on the front and rear wheels. They have industry standard front and rear hydraulic disc brakes on both wheels as well as an additional feature known as E-ABS. This is an 'electric antilock brake system' which uses the rear motor as a generator when braking. In so doing, the motor creates a controlled resistance to forward motion while replacing electric power back into the batteries. Using this feature well makes it is possible to optimise the maximum range of the scooter by coasting down hills while squeezing the brake lever to the point just before the brakes are actually applied.

The drive comes from a 2-Kilowatt motor. This produces enough power to comfortably ascend hills of up to 20 degrees incline with an average sized rider. It must be accepted that the load placed on the scooter as well as the driving style will affect the ultimate range of the scooter. They are rated to a maximum load of 150kg which approximately equates to 2 slim adults. If you are using the scooter on terrain with predominately hills, we recommend one unit per person.

The motor is powered by either one or two 60v batteries with a large capacity in each. One battery will comfortably allow the scooter to travel 40Km under normal driving conditions - this is doubled with the second battery fitted. There is a comprehensive display on the scooter which shows the remaining battery level as well as the normal speed, distance, indicator and lights status.

The scooters are EEC approved which means that all of the fitted ancillaries such as brakes and suspension have passed the various safety and operational tests imposed to allow use on roads within the EU. The tyres are licensed for road use as well as the scooter carrying the required lights for indication, night use, braking and a loud horn.

All of our scooters are speed limited electronically to 25Km/h. This is in order to fulfil the legal requirements that enable them to be driven by persons over 16 years of age and without a driving license. From this point of view, it is considered a speed which limits the injury inflicted to a rider in the event of an accident. Even if you have a driver's license and are over 18, it is not possible for us to remove this limit as it would alter the legal status of the vehicle and invalidate the insurance cover. They are intended for safe, fun, casual local travel. If you require a faster machine or wish to travel further afield then this is not the scooter for you.
