Lessee must be 18 years or over to enter rental Agreement
Named drivers must be 16 years or above with parental consent. No license is required but they must have experience of riding a scooter and be able to demonstrate the ability to drive in a competent manner if requested to do so prior to rental.
Scooters are strictly limited (electronically) to 25kmh
No unauthorised / un-named person may drive the scooter.
No more than 2 riders on a single scooter (max riding capacity 150kg)
Driver is responsible for knowing, following and obeying traffic rules and for driving with consideration towards other road users and pedestrians.
Driver / lessee are responsible for any penalties issued by the local authorities or police.
Riders must use the provided safety equipment when operating the scooter.
Driver must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs which exceed legal limitations or affect judgement, reactions or the ability to control the vehicle.
Accident damage and theft insurance is included in the rental - this is 3rd party cover and the client is liable for the cost up to total loss for the scooter. It can be upgraded to include a collision damage waiver (CDW) which protects the client to only the first €300 costs for any incident – This value is held in deposit at the time of rental. The insurance policy is to protect you from costs incurred in the event of theft or criminal damage to the scooter, or as a result of damage to any vehicles involved in a road traffic accident.
You and your personal belongings are not covered under the policy. You should always check that your travel insurance policy protects you for all other eventualities.
The lessee expressly agrees that the company MiRA Scooters is not responsible for any incidental or consequential damage suffered by the clients or third parties during the lease, and no claim may be brought against it for higher causes. Riders are responsible for ensuring that they have their own medical insurance policy to cover any and all injuries sustained during the lease.
Client is responsible for taking reasonable care of all equipment.
This includes but is not limited to the following:
- Must never leave the scooter unlocked when not in use.
• Must not leave the scooter and / or equipment in direct sunlight for extended periods
• Must never leave the batteries to re-charge unattended
• Must not attempt to open, repair, tamper with or disable any of the supplied equipment.
• Strictly no off-road use, or driving in a manner likely to cause damage to the equipment & GPS tracking may be used to help
determine this.
• No exposure to any liquids which will likely cause damage to any of the equipment.
• Client is responsible for all costs to repair any non-accidental damage caused by negligence, loss of control / falling impact,
water damage to components or other forms of mis-use & GPS tracking may be used to help determine this.
• Client is responsible for all costs incurred from loss or damage to any supplementary equipment. This includes items such as
helmets, batteries, chargers, keys etc. which are shown on the agreement. A tariff is available at our office.
When removed from the scooter, the battery is regarded as a separate component and is not covered by the policy. Loss, theft
or physical damage sustained while removed from the scooter will be charged individually up to a maximum of €400.
Free recovery will be available if the breakdown is due to an equipment failure and not related to overheating, low battery power or mis-use. If the voltage is above 50 volts it could be thermal protection that disables the scooter. Wait a short time in a shaded area to see if scooter will reactivate.
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that they have sufficient battery power to complete their journey. Recovery costs will be charged if the reason for breakdown is insufficient power. This will apply if the displayed battery power is displaying below 50 volts or 2 strength bars. A warning displays approximately 5 km prior.
Failure to comply with the above will result in the termination of contract. The vehicle will be disabled remotely and recovered without notice. Any and all costs incurred for this will be withheld from remaining time and / or deposit. Likewise, the cost of any equipment not returned will be charged from the deposit at the tariff rates.
